How to load new sound fonts:
- Download your preferred sound fonts to your device
- Compatible formats are sf2 and dls
- Remember where the fonts are downloaded
- On Top Navigation Bar tap the Gear Icon to go to Settings
- In settings tap the Sound Font line
- In the Sound Font page tap the Save button in the bottom bar
- Browse to your desired directory (or recents) and select the desired sound font file (
- The new Sound Font should appear selected in the Sound Font List
- You may have to adjust the sound profiles for the new font volumes
The purpose of sound profiles:
- Sound profiles adjust the velocity level to compensate for different audio output devices
- To access the Sound Profiles tab the speaker icon on the bottom tab
- Percussion Profiles
- In the percussion profiles the instrument velocities can be adjusted in reference to the default values
- We offer some preloaded profiles, you can modify them or create new ones per your needs
- To create a new percussion profile tap Save button, you will be prompted for a name
- You will be presented with the list of percussion instruments and two velocity columns
- You can select all and do a general adjustment or you can also adjust individual instruments
- Melody Profiles
- The melody profiles are designed to load a set of instruments that can work well together
- The melody profiles make it easy to load different instrument combinations
- When you want to save a combination of musical instruments, go to the Music Intruments Profile section
and tap the save button - You will be prompted for a profile name
- The current instruments settings will be saved under the entered profile name
How to convert MIDI to other audio formats:
When you have a MIDI sequence that you want to convert you need to save it to either your local device directory or somewhere in your cloud.
You can choose to convert your file using:
- An external online converter
- On your preferred search engine look for midi to your format converter
- Go to the external converter website Select conversion options and start the process
- When the conversion completed download the converted file to your device
- Import the file into your favorite music editor.
- You have the opportunity to listen and adjust the track volumes, instruments and tempo
- Follow the export guidelines for your music tool and create your audio file
- Browse to your desired directory (or recents) and select the desired sound font file
- If you want to use GarageBand on your iPhone
- In my Songs create a New Song
- Tap loops and drag a preexisting Apple Loop into the song
- Once added hold the added loop instrument Icon to get a popup menu
- In this menu select Show Tracks In View. In this mode we can add our MIDI sequence
- Once again select Loops, and now select Files
- Browse items from Files app and select the MIDI you want to use
- The MIDI file will be added to the GarageBand files. From here drag it to the tracks view
- Delete the first added loop by again long pressing the instrument icon and choosing delete in the pop up menu. (It was added to be able to switch to Track View)
- Now you can listen and convert to other audio formats
- To convert to another format:
- Open My Songs
- Long press the song you want to convert
- On the pop up menu select Share
- On the next popup select Song
- On the next popup select the desired format
- Tap Share on the top right corner
- You will be prompted for where to save the file (there are many options, it is easier to save to cloud)
